India: Gun battle with gov’t forces leave 4 rebels dead in Manipur
(MENAFN) On Monday, Oct. 11 officials stated that four rebels were confirmed dead in an intense gun battle with government forces in India’s northeastern state of Manipur.
The gun battle erupted in Kangpokpi district, around 50 km north of Imphal, the capital city of Manipur.
An army official noted: "the operation in the area was launched on Saturday and the gunfight broke out on Sunday, following which four insurgents neutralized."
According to reports, other rebels were able to flee in the stand-off.
Government forces have not suffered any harm in the gun battle, noted officials.
