Iceland suspends Moderna coronavirus vaccine due to hear-inflammation concerns

(MENAFN) Iceland has halted the employment of the Moderna anti-COVID-19 vaccine, reporting a growing risk of cardiac inflammation.

The employment of a vaccine produced by a US pharmaceutical firm was suspended on Friday because of fears over growing risks of heart-inflammation, said Bloomberg.

The chief epidemiologist made a decision not to employ the Moderna vaccine since the supply of Pfizer vaccine is enough, according to a report by the Health Directorate.

Previously, Sweden and Finland halted the use of the vaccine in persons aged under 30.
