NGO says Israel divides 19 Palestinian detainees with 'extremely harsh conditions'

(MENAFN) A Palestinian human rights company blamed Israel for dividing 19 detainees in "extremely harsh conditions" in the Negev jail.

The Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights claimed that some convicts were “stripped of their personal belongings in cells unfit for human use” and marked what the detainee Nabil Mughayer announced that they "suffer from extremely harsh and degrading conditions amid a collective punishment that amounts to torture."

The company added that detainees who are members of the Islamic Jihad group have been taken out from their jail section and isolated to other arrest facilities, which is a step that encouraged them to burn their section.

Mughayer furthermore said "The prisoners were placed in twos in an empty room with charred walls and floors."
