Indian forces gun down two militants in Kashmir encounter


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW DELHI, July 24 (KUNA) -- Indian security forces gunned down two militants in an encounter in Bandipora district of north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Saturday.
The Press Trust of India said, quoting a police officer, that two unidentified militants were killed in a gunfight with the security forces following a cordon and search operation in Shokbaba forest in the Sumblar area of Bandipora.
The militants fired upon the security forces during the search operations triggering the encounter.
New Delhi accuses Islamabad of supporting and funding armed groups in Kashmir, claims which Islamabad denies. (end)
