Senior British official lauds Iraq' s regional conciliatory role


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, June 8 (KUNA) -- Dominic Raab, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, on Tuesday expressed support for Iraq's role to ease regional tensions.
An official statement issued by the Iraqi government said the visiting British official, during a meeting with Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhemi, affirmed London's support for Baghdad's efforts to enforce Sovereignty of the law and establish stability in Iraq, as well as its mounting regional role to minimize conflicts at the regional level.
For his part, Al-Kadhemi said the signing of the strategic political cooperation document between the two countries capped development in bilateral relations, lauding London's support for Iraq's war on terrorism and efforts in the realm of economic reforms.
Raab arrived in the country earlier today on an official mission. (end)
