Saudi Made Air Conditioners Win First Place in Arab Energy Efficiency Day Competition 2021

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Riyadh, May 24, 2021, SPA -- The Secretariat of the Arab Ministerial Council of Electricity (AMCE), an offshoot of the Arab League's Energy Department, on Sunday honored the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC) for its High Efficiency Air Conditioners (HEAC) Initiative, which won the first place in this year's Arab Energy Efficiency Day Competition.
During a virtual awards ceremony, SEEC President Nasser Al-Ghamdi said that winning the award is a motivation for the center to move ahead with more achievements and successes, adding that the HEAC initiative was launched in 2018 as part of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), one of the realization programs of the Saudi Vision 2030, with the aim of boosting household energy efficiency and encouraging national industries.
Al-Ghamdi explained that the use of HEAC achieved energy surplus of more than 40% compared with the old air conditioners used by most of the Saudi households, adding that all the air conditioners manufactured under the initiative are of the ''green level'' with an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 13%.
He also said that the number of beneficiaries from the initiative has exceeded 100,000, with a discount of SR 900 on each of the high-efficiency Saudi manufactured air conditioners which can be bought online.
