Jason Gibson is an anthropologist and historian with years of experience in cultural heritage, repatriation and museums. He was awarded the Monash University Historical Studies PhD Prize (2017) and the Archaeological and Anthropological Society of Victoria Alpha Prize (2017). He is the author of 'Ceremony Men: Making Ethnography and the Return of the Strehlow Collection' (State University of New York Press, 2020) and Indigenous Cultural Heritage Repatriation: Australian Experiences (Routledge, forthcoming) and is the lead Chief Investigator on the 'Collecting at the Crossroads: Anthropology, Art and Cultural Change (1939-1986)' ARC Linkage Project.
