Qatar- QMC inaugurates Jassim Abdulaziz studios


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) H E sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday inaugurated new TV studios named after late Qatari journalist Jassim Abdulaziz, in honor and appreciation of his efforts and honorable media career.

The step reflects the keenness to immortalise the memory of one of the most important figures who served the Qatari media and made much through his distinguished experience as a presenter of programmes on Qatar TV.

The new studios will be a qualitative addition to the media field in the State of Qatar. Built on an area of 400 metres, the studios include the latest modern technology in television broadcasting, ensuring an integrated media experience in terms of sound and image.

The studios were established under exceptional circumstances and in record time, to be inaugurated with the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan, marking a milestone and a new addition to the Corporation's advanced facilities in the world of media.

Commenting on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer QMC, H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, said that naming the new studios after the late journalist Jassim Abdulaziz comes in recognition of his dedication and distinction, and in appreciation of his media career through which he served Qatar TV.

He noted that the studios were planned and implemented under exceptional circumstances, adding the challenges did not prevent the achievement of this project which is considered an immortalisation of one of the distinguished figures of the Corporation and the Qatari media.

The QMC chief executive noted that the studios will witness the launch of many new programmes, and the re-launch of the famous programme "Lakum Al Qarar", adding that the new studios will constitute an advanced addition to the media in Qatar with their technological capabilities and wide area that is suitable for presenting many distinctive programmes. H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani also honored the late Jassim Abdulaziz, presenting his brother with a memorial shield, carrying one of the microphones the late journalist used during his media career.
