Sri Lanka: Exports to China increase 33 percent

(MENAFN)According to provisional figures issued by the Export Development Board (EDB) on Tuesday, March 23, Sri Lanka's exports to China increased 33 percent from January to February in 2021 compared to the same period in 2021.
Income from exports to China in the first two months of 2021 increased from USD35.84 million last year to USD47.71 million this year.
Total export earnings for the month of February hit USD993.73 million in February, increased 2.53 percent year on year. The form is the uppermost export income for February in the last five years, the EDB stated.
EDB Chairman Suresh De Mel stated in a report "Sri Lankans are strong in facing challenges, and the exporters have shouldered the task of placing the economy of the country on the right track with immense difficulties".
