UN chief denounces terror assault in Somalia


(MENAFN) On Saturday, Mar. 6 UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres deeply denounced Friday's lethal terror assault in Somalia's capital Mogadishu, according to his spokesperson.

Stephane Dujarric, the spokesperson, stated in a declaration that the chief expressed his deep commiseration to the families of the victims and wished a quick recuperation to those wounded. He ordered that the ones responsible of this assault to be brought to justice.

According to the declaration, the secretary-general reaffirmed the complete backing and solidarity of the United Nations with the administration and the Somali people in the face of such crimes. He trusted that random violence and assaults will not put off people of Somalia in their pursuit of peace, stability and prosperity.

20 people as a minimum were killed and another 30 were wounded when a suicide car bomb blasted outside a famous restaurant in Mogadishu on Friday night.
