Railing collapse leaves 5 students dead at Bolivian university
(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Mar. 2 the administration stated that after a fourth-floor railing collapsed at the Public University of El Alto (UPEA) in western Bolivia, five students as a minimum lost their lives and another three were wounded.
Minister of Government Carlos Eduardo Del Castillo tweeted: "so far we have the report of 5 dead people and 3 people in intensive care after what happened at the #UPEA facilities" close to the city of La Paz.
Del Castillo further said: "I have just instructed the Chief of Police, Jhonny Aguilera, to go to the site to make a full report of what happened."
The lethal incident took place in an assembly of Business Administration students, said a report from El Alto Police Commander Col. Leonel Jimenez.
