Iran, Iraq to discuss dimensions of political, economic collaboration
(MENAFN)The foreign ministers of Iran and Iraq discussed the diverse dimensions of political and economic collaboration in addition to border exchanges amid both countries.
An Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif slammed the US’ risky move to attack Iraqi forces in border areas of Iraq and Syria, declining the attacks as a violation of both countries’ sovereignty.
Zarif described latest raids and events in Iraq as “suspicious”, stating that they could be targeted at unsettling Tehran-Baghdad ties in addition to security and stability in Iraq.
According to the top Iranian diplomat, “We insist that the Iraqi government identify those behind these incidents.”
