(MENAFN)According to the country's industry and technology minister, Turkey exported an amount of 5,000 locally produced medical ventilators, critical in treating the novel Coronavirus.
During a meeting in the capital Ankara, Mustafa Varank further stated that Turkish biotech firm Biosys produced 10,000 medical ventilator units, half of which were either sold or donated to different countries.
Biosys was capable to inaugurate the mass production of the much-sought-after devices as the world experienced and have been through a lot to treat a surge of patients suffering from the respiratory disease.
It was capable to carry out this with the backing of three companies -- unmanned aerial vehicle producer Baykar, defense giant Aselsan, and major appliances firm Arcelik.
