Parliamentary election results announced in Kuwait


(MENAFN)On Sunday, the Electoral Committee of Kuwait announced the 50 winners of the 2020 parliamentary elections held in the five electoral districts of the country.

With 326 major candidates for 50 positions, the polls started off on Saturday. The election process started at 8 a.m. It was local time and lasted until 8 p.m.

As per the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), in the polls, 567,694 voters were given the right to vote to pick 50 members to represent them in parliament, and the winners would serve as members of parliament for a four-year term.

Kuwait's legislative elections resulted in 31 new MPs winning, and 19 MPs managed to return to the National Assembly (parliament), KUNA stated Sunday.
