São Paulo – The government of Oman said the school year will resume on November 1st. The decision was made public following work by the Supreme Committee charged with addressing the pandemic, in tandem with the Ministry of Education's efforts to work with the schools in the 2020-2021 school year. The state-run Oman News Agency reported that schools will reopen under a hybrid learning system that will combine in-school and online activities.
The Committee will keep monitoring the situation via the Ministry of Education and other related departments. It will also keep track of epidemiological data from each of the countries provinces to ensure a safe learning experience for students.
The Committee also reiterated its appeal to citizens and residents to keep taking precautions to curb the virus' spread.
Oman's Supreme Committee had been looking into pandemic infection and death numbers in different provinces. It expressed concern over the behavior of individuals who participate in gatherings. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Oman had 113,354 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 1,190 deaths from the disease.
