Aman app contributes to detecting 23 per cent of COVID-19 infections in Jordan


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Oct. 9 (Petra) Dergham al-Azzah- Aman app has contributed recently to detecting almost 23 per cent of COVID-19 infections in the Kingdom, as nearly 2 million Android users have downloaded the app, Basheer al-Salayteh, one of its creators told Petra.
He added that the application, which is a privacy-conscious and preserves citizens' data and information, works effectively in terms of tracing people who had a direct contact with infected cases, and determining the source of infection.
Commenting on the mechanism of the application's work, Al-Salayteh explained that when it is downloaded, it requests permissions to access site registration and send alerts. It also begins to record the sites that the user visits through GPS.
He added that the application does not save information on major servers, nor does it ask for any personal information or phone number, stressing that the application saves location data and time periods on the user's personal phone.
