Qatar- Ooredoo plans second beach clean-up event
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar's leading telecommunications operator, Ooredoo has announced the second in a series of Beach Clean-up events, as part of its ongoing initiative to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment.
The second Beach Clean-up event is scheduled for tomorrow at Zekreet Beach. As before, Ooredoo volunteers will attend the beach - following all current safety protocols -to clean up anything not part of the natural environment.
Ooredoo's Beach Clean-up campaign, with the social media hashtag #LeaveOnlySandcastles, is designed to encourage beachgoers to clean up after themselves and take responsibility for picking up any rubbish left behind.
It focuses on keeping Qatar's beaches clean for both the preservation of the marine environment and for the benefit of those visiting, ensuring anyone paying a visit to one of the country's many stunning beaches leaves only sandcastles when they depart.
Sabah Rabiah Al Kuwari, Director PR at Ooredoo, said: 'We are proud to be undertaking this important initiative as part of our corporate social responsibility strategy, a key focus of which is a commitment to promoting the protection of our environment in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
"We're incredibly proud of all our volunteers who tirelessly offer their time, especially since the hot summer weather still presents considerable challenges, and we look forward to many more such events in the coming months.
