Recovery of transport industry in China quickens in April

Official data showed that the transport industry of China saw a stronger recovery in April as some indicators showed expansion.
The cargo throughput at ports of China saw an expansion of 4.1 percent compared to a year ago to reach 1.19 billion tonnes in April, rebounding from a 2.4 percent declined reported in March, data released by the Chinese Ministry of Transport showed.
The foreign trade cargo throughput in April also increased 2.4 percent compared to March, according to the data.
The cargo throughput at ports came in at a total of 4.2 billion tonnes in starting four months of the current year, representing a decline of 2.3 percent compared to the same period a year earlier.
