Cholera claims 4 lives in Cameroon

Local health authorities in Douala, the commercial capital of Cameroon, said on Tuesday evening that Cholera disease has claimed four lives following an outbreak of the sickness in the capital.

Authorities said that 20 patients have been diagnosed with the disease in the earlier two weeks.

Douala mayor, Valentin Epoupa Bossambo, said that the outbreak of the disease have affected the capital, as he urged the population to follow the basic hygiene measures and cleanliness in order to stop the spread of the disease.

Cholera is a highly virulent disease, its most strongest form is a sudden onset of acute watery diarrhea that could result in death following extreme dehydration.
