Jordan- Full curfew to e imposed on Friday, Saturday: Adaileh

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, April 14 (Petra) -- Minister of State for media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, announced that the government will impose a full curfew in all governorates and regions of the Kingdom, for 48 hours, starting from Thursday after midnight, April 17, until after midnight Saturday.
Speaking at the daily media update in the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) on Tuesday evening, Adaileh said the full curfew will be the same as the one imposed last week, confirming that things will return to the way they are now, at 10am on Sunday.
The full curfew decision excludes medical personnel in public and private sectors, epidemiological inspection teams, and a limited number of officials, employees, and workers in vital sectors, who are identified by their institutions, Adaileh added.
Adaileh reiterated that the purpose of a full curfew is to preserve the safety and health of citizens, and to enable epidemiological inspection teams to intensify their role and efforts, in addition to conducting as many tests as possible to detect any cases of COVID-19 or suspected cases.
In response to the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, the government will announce the mechanism of the government program aimed at supporting day workers, via the National Aid Fund, the minister noted, explaining that the program includes, in its first phase, providing cash subsidy to day workers, who were affected by the curfew instructions, and will include approximately 200,000 families.
Adaileh said that the government this week will announce the first area in the Kingdom in which curfew instructions will be amended, entry and exit from it will be prohibited as of next week, productive economic activities will resumed and shops and businesses will be opened, provided that highest standards of prevention and health control to be adhered.
He pointed out that the government took this step due to the absence of any COVID-19 infection in some governorates.
"We will also allow, as of next week, some production and service facilities to operate, according to strict measures for prevention and health care, with a minimum number of workers," Adaileh added.
The minister spoke about a number of new measures that were announced today for prevention and precautionary purposes during the holy month of Ramadan, in addition to resuming operations in key infrastructure projects such as the Desert Highway project, adding, "We will have more procedures and decisions in the coming stage, according to the developments of the situation."
With regard to Jordanian and non-Jordanian trucks drivers coming to the Kingdom, the minister said the government, security bodies and concerned teams, have decided to allow their entry provided that they would present a certificate proving that they have conducted a test for the Coronavirus, and that they are free from this virus.
