Qatar Red Crescent celebrates Volunteer Day
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Qatar Red Crescent marked the International Volunteer Day at Katara, yesterday, under the theme ‘Thanks to the volunteers'.
In a speech at the ceremony, Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of Qatar Red Crescent, said that it is an occasion to remember the accomplishments of a full year in which volunteers achieved what is a source of pride.
Al Hammadi stressed that the Qatari Red Crescent, as the first volunteer civil institution in the State of Qatar, gives special importance to volunteers and work with them to refine skills and provide them with the necessary expertise, then to use them in organised activities that occupy their free time and serve society.
