First-ever Islamic insurance conference held in Kabul
(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL ok): The Ministry of Finance on Saturday asked public and private Islamic insurance companies to extend their cooperation in issuing Islamic insurance in line with rules and regulations.
The first-ever conference to introduce Islamic insurance was organised in capital Kabul to enhance public awareness regarding Islamic insurance, increase cooperation for development of Islamic insurance industry in the country and encouraging investment in this field, the MoF said in a statement.
Abdul Habib Zadran, MoF administrative secretary, said the Islamic insurance law has been drafted following MoF initiative and cooperation of the Islamic Development Bank.
'The organization of this first Islamic insurance conference is a new prospect in the country and there is need for public awareness in this regard,' he said.
Qasim Jalili, deputy professional assistance at the Ministry of Justice, said that insurance was legal in Islam because it meant helping less fortunate.
He said the Ministry of justice would cooperate with the MoF in promoting Islamic insurance in the country.
