Panama Canal revenues up 3.9%


(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) Revenues of the Panama Canal closed at $ 3.365.9 billion during fiscal year 2019, an increase of 3.9% reports the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) .

 Toll revenues, mostly driven by the container ship segment were, $2,592.5  billion said a press release published on Thursday, October 24.

The According to the preliminary figures of the Canal Authority, between October 1, 2018, and September 30, 2019, the interoceanic highway registered transit revenues, which includes tolls and other services, of  $3,077.6 billion.

The rest of the income,  135.7 million, was generated from other Panama Canal businesses such as the production of drinking water ( 36.2 million) and electric power ($60.7 million). In addition to $152.5 million in interest earned.
