(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Riyadh, Oct. 11, 2019, SPA -- Saudi Ports made a progress in the Quality of Port Services Index by 4 points from the previous year, in the Global Competitiveness Report 2019, which is one of the indicators that contributed to the rise of the Kingdom's ranking in the results of the report issued by the World Economic Forum.
This remarkable progress comes in the efficiency and quality of services provided by Saudi ports in return for the unlimited support received by the ports sector by the wise leadership, which gave it the strength and support necessary to achieve its objectives and contribute to building a solid economy within the national economy system.
The General Authority for Ports has launched a number of new development projects to optimize the capacity of Saudi ports, develop infrastructure and expand the construction of terminals, in addition to the application of performance measurement indicators to improve the efficiency and quality of port services and reduce the duration of stay.
