Discovery’s Lucy Speed awarded at female-centric Rise Awards

(MENAFN- M&C Saatchi Public Relations) Discovery MENA has been recognised at the first ever Rise Awards, hosted by Rise, the award-winning advocate group for gender diversity within the broadcast manufacturing and services sector.
Making her the only person to receive an accolade from the region, Lucy Speed, Marketing and PR Manager for Discovery MENA, was recognised for her work as best marketer/PR in the industry – in a category sponsored by London and Dubai-based, Bubble Agency.
The accomplishment follows Lucy’s ongoing delivery of astonishing performance-led results for Discovery network’s leading Arabic food channel, Fatafeat.
Lucy’s execution of the 2019 Ramadan marketing plan – the pinnacle annual event for Fatafeat – resulted in double the level of year-on-year PR coverage, as well as a treble increase in audience social numbers – breaking all records across the multi-platform marketing approach.
Held in conjunction with the IBC conference in Amsterdam, the awards sought the best-of-the-best in the industry, seeing more than 100 female industry moguls nominated from around the world.
Rise was formed in 2017 to support and promote women working in the non-craft part of the broadcast industry in operations, engineering, sales, marketing and business. Since its conception, Rise has grown to become a global network hosting events at Broadcast Asia, IBC and NAB.
