(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet approved the legislation to merge Levies and Khasadar Forces with KP police on Tuesday.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that he has fulfilled his promises and now after the merger of Levies and Khasadars with the police, they will get all the privileges as provided to KP Policemen.
Syed Jalal Wazir, chairman of All-Khasadar Force Action Committee, when contacted by TNN, said that in this connection he already has a meeting with IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan. In which the IG assured that the integration process of Khasadar and Levies force with the police would be completed in the next six weeks. He revealed that following the assurance by IG police, he had suspended his protest for six weeks.
According to Syed Jalal Wazir, during this scheduled period of six weeks, the seniority lists of Levies and Khasadars men will be finalized and other necessary actions will be completed. He said that committees will be formed at each tribal district and subdivision levels which will submit its recommendations to the IGP who will approve them immediately. He further said that he was satisfied with the provincial government's decision and hoped that all problems would be resolved this time.
In addition, the provincial cabinet also approved to permanent the services of the special police force. Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that the Special Police Force also played a vital role in the fight against terrorism.
The provincial cabinet also approved a relief package for all those killed and injured in a passenger car accident in Upper Kohistan on August 30. The Chief Minister announced a relief package of 5 lakh for each one died in the tragedy and one lakh for the injured.
The Cabinet also approved the necessary exception to the relevant rules for procurement of contraceptive drugs, as well as a draft law on begging in public places.
