Sri Lanka- Former acting GM of Lanka Sathosa jailed
(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) The former Acting General Manager of Lanka Sathosa, Wimal Perera, was today sentenced to jail on corruption charges.
Perera was sentenced to one year in jail and fined 50,000 after being found guilty of corruption charges.
He was however later granted bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate as he will be filing an appeal against the prison sentence.
The case had been filed against Perera by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
