LNG exports from new project in U.S. passed

(MENAFN) A new project for the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) was declared to have been approved by the government of the United States.

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy signed an order for the move to be approved, allowing Gulf LNG Liquefaction Company to export as much as 1.53 billion cubic feet daily of natural gas as LNG from the Gulf LNG Liquefaction Project.

Fossil Energy assistant secretary Steven Winberg emphasized that "the U.S. is in another year of record-setting natural gas production."

"I am pleased that the Department of Energy is doing its part to bring about an efficient regulatory system that allows for additional U.S. energy to find its way into the global market," Winberg added.
