Morocco: 5 Daesh terrorists arrested in Tangiers


(MENAFN) On Saturday, the Moroccan security services dismantled a terrorist cell connected to the Islamic State (IS) militant group in the northern city of Tangiers, and detained five suspects.

The five terrorists, are aged between 24 and 36, one of whom is a person who detained before over terrorism charges and had fought in the ranks of terrorist groups in Syria, emphasized a statement of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation, Morocco's intelligence bureau.

People in this terrorist cell were in relation with followers of the IS group in order to coordinate and plan attacks targeting sensitive locations in Morocco, added the statement.

The statement emphasized that the suspects will be brought to justice at the end of the investigation carried out under the management of the competent public prosecutor's office.
