Coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen downs drone launched by Houthis

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, July 17 (KUNA) -- The Coalition for Support of Legitimacy in Yemen confirmed on Wednesday it has downed a drone launched by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia from Sana'a province towards civilians in the southern city of Jazan.
Coalition Forces spokesman Colonel Turki Al-Maliki said in a press statement that the continued attempts by terrorist militias to target civilian infrastructure and civilians in Saudi Arabia clearly reveals the criminal tendency of these militias and their persistence in using terrorist methods and their threat to regional and international security.
Al-Maliki said that while the special envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Martin Griffith is in Sanaa, the Houthi militias continue using terrorist methods to threaten regional and international security.
He stressed that the leadership of the joint forces of the coalition will take all deterrent measures against the Houthi terrorist organizations in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules. (end)
