Russia must stop war against Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Russian Federation must fulfill the Minsk agreements and end the war against Ukraine.

This was stated by Ukraine's Ambassador to Belgium and Ukraine's Representative to the EU Mykola Tochytskyi on Twitter:

"The EU strength is in its unity and consistency. Russia must implement Minsk and stop the war against Ukraine. To make concessions to aggressor would mean to surrender foundations of the EU and international order. History lessons of appeasement of aggressor are tragic. We cannot let it happen again".

As known, the European Union in July 2014 introduced economic sanctions against Russia for the illegal annexation of Crimea and actions destabilizing the situation in eastern Ukraine. The sanctions were strengthened in September 2014.

In March 2015, the European Council linked the effect of restrictive measures with Russia's failure to comply with the Minsk agreements. Since then, the EU has been considering the extension of economic sanctions against Russia every six months.
