Afghanistan- Afghan exporters receive $75m worth offers in Mumbai expo

KABUL: Afghanistan earned offers and contracts at a total
value of $75 million in Mumbai exhibition on Saturday.

According to a statement issued by Ministry of Agriculture Irrigation
and Livestock the Afghan agriculture products by receiving offers and contracts
at a total cost of $75million ended in Mumbai city of India on Saturday.

The deputy minister, Mohammad Tahir Ayob, expressed pleasures
over warmth hospitality from India, calling the agro-fair full of achievement
for Afghanistan.

Akbar Rustami, spokesman for the agriculture ministry, said
that they had predicted that Afghan traders would sell goods at around $30
million, but after end of second day of expo, Afghan selling and contract deals
reached to $75 million.

He said that in the first day of exhibition Afghan traders
had $32 million selling contracts and in second day 43 million, which is a
great achievement.

High quality of Afghan harvest was main factor behind this
achievement, he added.

Dry, fresh fruits, herbs, saffron, honey and some others
Afghan goods and agriculture products have been put on display in 57 booths in
Mumbai exhibition, he underlined.
