Qatar- Mowasalat transported over 10,000 spectators

Mowasalat (Karwa) has deployed 115 buses that transported over 10,000 out of the 38,678 game spectators, and 75 allocated buses transporting over 6,000 students, as well as providing wheelchair accessible buses to transport their users to and from Al Janoub Stadium. In addition, Mowasalat collaborated with Qatar Rail in the operation of Metro Link feeder buses.


Mowasalat greatly facilitated the reach of spectators to and from Al Janoub Stadium during its inauguration, which hosted the final football match of Amir Cup, last Thursday.


For the first time, Mowasalat has utilised a number of eco-friendly electrical buses as an initiative to preserve the environment, and as a step towards the achievement of the Qatar National Vision 2030, to enhance sustainable environmental development.


Mowasalat was able to make a significant positive impact on the spectators as the utilised buses achieved a loading and off-landing time record of only (1) one minute during the transfer of passengers to and from Al Janoub Stadium.


Fahad Saad Al Qahtani, Mowasalat CEO, said: 'We would like to congratulate His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, on the inauguration of Al Janoub Stadium, the sports architectural masterpiece that will attract the world's attention when hosting FIFA 2022 Finals.

Al Qahtani also pointed out that the directives of the wise leadership and the great efforts exerted by the State represented by the Ministry of Transport and Communications and stakeholders have greatly facilitated spectators' reach to and from Al Janoub Stadium during Amir Cup final by implementing several projects related to roads and transportation infrastructure.


These projects have greatly contributed to improving the performance and integration of the transport system and promoting public transport.


Al Qahtani said: 'The fruitful collaboration with Qatar Football Association, Supreme Committee of Delivery & Legacy and Qatar Rail contributed significantly to the success of Mowasalat (Karwa) tasks during the event. Where transportation provided an exceptional experience for spectators with world-class services and contributed to enriching their experience through the integration of transport services.


'Mowasalat has put all its capabilities and raised its readiness to meet all spectators' requirements at this important event, offering a large fleet of public transport buses to facilitate the public transport back and forth to the stadium, Al Qahtani added.


He also pointed out that Mowasalat offered exclusive discounts to game spectators to support the integration of the transfer process with Doha Metro, where it provided a 25 percent flat discount to spectators when booking a trip to Al Janoub Stadium via Karwa Taxi App.


Al Qahtani stressed that the successful organization of Al Janoub Stadium inauguration, which hosted Amir Cup final, is a proof of the integration of all road projects with various facilities of the transport sector, which greatly contributed to the facilitation of traffic and offer an exceptional experience to the public.
