Oman- Ooredoo Goodwill Journey targets women empowerment

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Ooredoo's annual Goodwill Journey is set to make its mark on communities across the sultanate throughout the holy month of Ramadan with 15 impactful initiatives.

Dedicated to enriching the digital lives of people in Oman, this year's journey will aim to foster women's entrepreneurial empowerment and education, as well as promote the sustainable development of communities at large. Travelling the length and breadth of the country, the journey set off from the Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children in Amerat on Sunday, under the auspices of H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Said bin Saif al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development.

Raed Mohammed Dawood, director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, 'We are delighted to have reached this milestone year of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Goodwill Journey. The number of initiatives grow annually, highlighting the dedication of our employees to be the change they want to see in communities. Our aim is to not only provide charitable contributions from us and our customers, but to invest in building the future of many men, women and children across the country.'

Impacting thousands of people's lives, a dedicated Ooredoo team of volunteers turn the company's caring message into a reality by lending a helping hand.

Over the next few weeks, the Ooredoo family will visit different charities, empower Omani women to start their own businesses, provide essential education tools to nurture tomorrow's entrepreneurs, as well as provide invaluable support to communities by handing out laptops to high-achieving students.

In addition, the convoy will be celebrating the women's incubator graduates in several locations.

Launched in 2005 to give back to the community, the Ooredoo Goodwill Journey has, to date, helped thousands of people and families.
