Egypt vows to boost defense cooperation with China


(MENAFN) Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi vowed to further boost defense collaboration with China during his meeting with visiting Chinese State Councilor and Minister of National Defense Wei Fenghe on Monday.

In the meeting, Sisi remembered the long-standing China-Egypt relation during which the both parties had reached productive results from their cooperation in all sectors and underlined China's participation in reaching world peace.

He praised China's great accomplishments in its development, stating that Egypt strongly supports the Belt and Road Initiative and expects to boost cooperation in the field of infrastructure construction with the Chinese party.

Sisi also voiced his hope that both parties can further boost defense cooperation and carry out more cooperation in the fields of fighting terrorism, joint military exercises, armed forces buildup in addition to defense industry.
