Thailand wraps up general election
(MENAFN) Thailand was announced to have wrapped up its general election polls on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. local time to mark the first general election since 2014.
Awaiting results, 500 members of representatives will be chosen through the general elections with the opposition expected to claim the majority of the seats in the lower house.
Pheu Thai Party, according to Suandusit Poll, is likely to secure 173 seats of the lower house while pro-NCPO party Palang Pracharath would win 96 seats.
Following the 2014 coup, the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) snatched power with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
