(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- A Kuwaiti activist walked for nearly a month to reach Oman aiming to highlight the cause of hearing impairment. It took Amer al Azmi 28 days to cover the distance between Kuwait and Muscat in Oman.

After the success of his cochlear implant surgery, Azmi, launched a campaign called #for you. He plans to set up a model school for the deaf and the hearing impaired, with particular focus on 'lip language'.

Amer posted a series of tweets and videos on his journey. Last week, officials from the Omani Association for the Hearing Impaired received Azmi in Muscat and thanked him for the initiative. Azmi also met Dr Salim bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, chief executive officer of Information Technology Authority at Comex.

Many Omani netizens congratulated Azmi and praised him for the initiative. They described him as a hero on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
