Samsung targets AI, 5G as key growth fuels

(MENAFN) South Korean technology giant Samsung Electronics is focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) and 5G, its vice chairman and chief executive Kim Ki-nam announced on Wednesday.

Both AI and 5G are targeted as the two key elements for triumphing over business difficulties and achieving growth in the South Korean giant, the official told an annual shareholders meeting.

"As difficult business conditions continued this year, (Samsung) planned to push for fundamental innovations across the entire divisions of the company," Ki-nam noted.

Samsung will "intensively foster" the two technologies for growth since both received massive responses, he added.
