Turkey denounces Mali's deadly assault on army base
(MENAFN) Turkish Foreign Ministry voiced the country's deep denouncement to an assault against a military base in Mali which left at least 21 soldiers dead.
An armed group launched an attack late Saturday against an army base located in the village of Dura in the heart of Mali.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Foreign Ministry emphasized "we are saddened by the terrorist attack against the security forces in the central Mopti region of Mali, claiming many lives and leaving several people injured."
It added "we condemn this heinous attack and offer our condolences to the brotherly people and Government of Mali and wish Allah's mercy upon those who lost their lives and speedy recovery to the wounded."
