Turkey begins stock index with boost
(MENAFN) Turkey was able to achieve a boost as it started its benchmark stock index trading session on Thursday at 103,853.39 points.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index opened with a 0.39 percent or 400.54 points jump on Thursday, compared to the closing of Tuesday session.
On Thursday, the U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate reached 5.4320 from the closing rate of 5.4210 seen on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.1510 compared to Wednesday's closing rate at 6.1330.
The benchmark stock index registered a 0.27 percent decline by the end of the day on Wednesday to hit 103,452.85 points, posting around USD1.3 billion in the daily trading volume.
