Saudi sisters escaping to Aust stranded in China

(MENAFN) Two sisters from Saudi Arabia who escaped the kingdom and plotted to board a flight to Australia have been living in Hong Kong for the past six months.

The sisters, who say they escaped the violence of their father brothers, reached the Chinese territory from Sri Lanka in September.

They claimed they were stopped from boarding a linked flight to Australia and were blocked at the airport by diplomats from Saudi Arabia.

Hong Kong police confirmed they had been tipped-off about "two expatriate women" in September and have launched probes.
