Sri Lanka- New SLTDA chairman assumes duties as tourist arrivals increase


(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) The newly appointed Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), Kishu Gomes, assumed duties at the Chairman's office at the SLTDA.

Meanwhile, SLTDA said that the total number of international tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka during January 2019 was 244,239.

There is a growth of 2.2 % as compared to January last year where tourist arrivals were 238,924, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority stated in a press release.

Last month, the largest source markets for tourists were India, followed by China and the United Kingdom.
