Afghanistan police nabs IS prominent commander
(MENAFN) An army spokesman in the northern region Abdul Hadi Jamal declared that an eminent commander of the hardliner Islamic State (IS) was nabbed in Maimana, the capital city of Afghanistan's northern Faryab province on Friday.
Jamal added: "An IS notorious commander who disguised himself as ordinary man and was planning to move to some unknown place was identified by law enforcing agencies in Maimana city on Friday afternoon and arrested."
The official confirmed that probes were ongoing into the case.
The armed militant group hasn't made any statements yet.
