Saudi Arabia denounces Houthis over UN monitors assault

(MENAFN) Saudi Ambassador to the U.S. Prince Khalid bin Salman expressed the Kingdom's condemnation to the assault Houthi militants launched in Yemen against UN monitors.

The UN personnel who were sent to Yemen in order to monitor a ceasefire agreement were under attack in Hodeidah on Thursday.

According to the UN, a round of small arms fire was launched against a vehicle which was with a convoy moving chief monitor Patrick Cammaert.

In a social media statement, the envoy stressed that Houthi terrorists "have violated their signed commitments in Stockholm and continue to flout international law and escalate their aggression against the Yemeni people."
