Libyan gov't to operate key Obari power plant
(MENAFN) Libya's government was announced to be operating a key power plant located in Obari, a southern Libyan city, after a Turkish contractor quit.
The news was declared by government spokesman Mohamed al-Sallak while addressing a news conference held in Tripoli.
Libyan technicians, the government spokesperson further revealed, have been assigned to run the power plant following their training in Germany.
Al-Sallak confirmed that "they (technicians) were trained to operate the power plant in the absence of foreign experts. They will start operating the power plant this month, which would increase the public power networks by 600 megawatts."
