Libya: 15 migrants starve to death in sea


(MENAFN) An Egyptian survivor declared that 15 migrants have been killed after staying on a boat off the Libyan coast without any food or water supplement for 12 days.

The owner of a beach chalet discovered the migrants after they were swept to the shore near the city of Misrata and informed the authorities, who shifted them to Red Crescent relief service and hospitals.

The survivor confirmed: "We were 25 migrants on a boat ... We set off from (the western Libyan town of) Sabratah and we were at sea for 12 days without food and water"

The survivor added: "Fifteen have died".
