Lebanon's bank deposits jump 4 percent


(MENAFN) Lebanon was announced by its central bank to have recorded a 4 percent boost in its bank deposits this year.

Declaring the results, Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh also affirmed that Lebanon's economic growth forecast this year is still at 2 percent.

Lebanon was previous revealed to have stood at 150 percent of gross domestic product in its public debt.

The governor added "Lebanese banks have succeeded in maintaining foreign exchange inflows into their sector supported by (the central bank)."
