Brazil to support Indonesia with USD100,000


(MENAFN) On Friday, the Brazilian government proclaimed a decision to give USD100,000 to a fund for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami which hit Indonesia late September, Xinhua news agency reported.

The donation will be made through the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), which has been supporting the Indonesian government in coordinating logistics, it said.

The donation was proclaimed during a conference between Brazilian Foreign Affairs Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira and the ambassadors of nations of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

Over 2000 were murdered, 10,000 other were seriously wounded and 80,000 displayed in the natural catastrophe in Indonesia.
