835 Syrian refugees in Lebanon back to homeland


(MENAFN) On Monday, roughly 835 Syrian refugees in Lebanon were announced to have made it back to their homes.

"Refugees were transported with over 15 buses while cars from the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) escorted them to the borders based on the request of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees."

The declaration was made by an LRC source while speaking to Xinhua on the refugees who left various place in Lebanon, such as Tripoli and Nabatieh.

The Syrian refugees assured that their return was deliberate, as they aimed to register their children in schools in their homeland.

Syrian refugee Hassan Al Khatib commented: "we are very happy to be returning to our homeland especially that the security situation has improved."
