Spain: over 9 people die in floods


(MENAFN) Local media revealed that the over nine people have died on the Spanish island of Mallorca as six more were uncounted for in floods.

Emergency services, involving 300 people, eight vehicles, a boat, three helicopter, are in efforts on the disturbed areas to search for the missing.

Heavy downpours and flash floods continued for about two hours on the main island of the archipelago of the Balearic Islands, particularly the town of Sant Llorenc, and many other towns.

Torrents of water drifted cars and houses, which forced at least 100 people to leave their homes and take shelter in sports centers.
